To wield a world once beyond my grasp
To speak these words once foreign to my lips
I know the fire now, I see at last
What I had lived without, now dwells within
Ariadne's anniversary, now I've laid to rest
Every verse she screamed, from beneath the earth she slept
And touched upon a new heaven, drawn in a fresh breath
There are no doubts left in me, to breed hesitation in the flesh
And sure, she scarred me, dug her nails into my back
And sure some marks remain, where her chains once bound me
But I have charted my course, waged my wars
Now I know freedom from the demons that surround me
To breathe these words to the stars
To hold the brightest among them
In my arms
Ariadne's great letting go, where all that we behold
Is but a slight chill in the bones, of those who could never know
I wield a world now, within my soul
Who stirs the embers, and awakens the bold
And so I burn bright, and echo through the night
A light that no measure of dark could extinguish
And beg you bring your shadows, dare you to expose
Everything you've known, every book you've closed
I am made whole by this intoxication of the heart
I am strengthened by the same storms that tore you apart
And I have started my work, faced the worst
Now I know peace amidst the chaos of war
To see the journey upon which I've embarked
To hold the most beautiful among you
In my arms.
