Flourishing Love

I have loved you in the nights
Where dawn wouldn't dare intrude
And among the brightest lights
Where all was in my view
From worlds fantastically unreal
Where souls could play their tunes
To the weary march of fate
Who determined my course with you
And each passing day may seem
To weigh the shoulders with unspent dreams
But the night shall come
And we will run
And never be captured, save by each other
In that place where our hearts first became lovers
As each day begs the attention of our minds
As the mundane dares to interrupt our time
I will be here to remind you
I have loved you in the skies
Where the fires of passion ignite
I have loved you when the day was a dull knife
Pressed against our will to fly
From words spilt onto open fields
Where love might echo for the world to hear
To the slave chains of these grave days
Whose only comfort lies in night coming near
And oh she shall come
And we will run
For always shall we have our love
To look upon how far we've come
And smile and know then
That this world we've built is all for us.
