Another day, another drink
That promises the night
Will pass without sleep
Another race, to the edge of dreams
I see you, dying slowly
Another breath and morning steals
Moments, what have I taken
From this room, painted in
Shadows and skeletons
Singing and screaming
Quiet conversations concerning
The coming end
Another kiss, another world
Another moment, passes unheard
What promises broken
Now line the street, these days
Unforgiven, remorseless
As lines crossed are drawn again
At the edge of madness
Vultures circle, we collapse
To bitter reality, I keep hidden
These stained seconds
Another day, another drink
There has to be
Another way, another scene
That doesn't end in tragedy
I see this, lying low
And want to take it with me
I summon all my strength
To keep from moving against this
To find myself bound by circumstances
Beyond these liqoured moments
Here, where everything is hopeless
Except this, I take what I can
Offer nothing but this
Passion, the fire that burns brightest
At midnight, when the once dead
Dance in quiet reverie
I welcome myself into
Purgatory, where I can taste
Heaven on my lips, but swallow only
Ashes, where I can raise fires
High as I stand, and still shiver against
The cold, while the space between words
Betrays my intentions to her
Another day, another drink
And still I find myself thirsty
Still I find this worthy
Of every second spent yearning
For something to burn
Still I find myself trading
These hours for exhaustion
To breathe you in, every chance I get
Until the end comes calling.
