El Amante y el Mago

I can taste the confection
In every morsel you left with
It's the wish I fell
These verses to.

A jester and an angel
A lover and a stranger
Who carves from stone
The words that hang in my throat
I would whisper secrets in one ear
Just to hear them echo from your lips
The treble and timbre of heaven
Poured to the rim of my addiction
I could hold a conversation with those earthen eyes
That would shake me to my foundation
Leave us quivering with anticipation
Without a word spent
While the light glides down
Over gracefully shouldered mountains.

And I can see your heart
And I know where you are
It's the place I keep my
Favorite pieces.

A battlefield and a meadow
A pen to wield and a parchment
Who holds my musings
Apart from the markings of the mad
I would wend my way into your arms
Just to pull closer that whitesand skin
The sensuous scent of the ocean
Flirting with the moon and the darkness
I could dance electric in those cloudy moments
That flash and pour over my every sentence
Leave us shivering in heart-soaked passion
Without a second washed up
Against the shores where our touch
Spans the distance between us.

I could hear your heartbeat
A thousand miles away
It's the rhythm I spilled
This ink to.
