A sliver of silver cuts into the clouds
The waves crash loud across white sands
The stars struggle against oppressive darkness
The wind breathes strong on my lips
A fire is lit, that dances against this curtain
Of tranquility, that spins and encircles our greatest dreams
At this center, we will find peace
In the equilibrium of our universe
All that I've dreamt has found me
Along the dark edge of land and sea
Where the ocean begs to swallow me
And the earth holds tight to my feet
I have discovered a lover who embraces the exquisite
Who shies from the harsh light
Of the inhibited, draws strength from these unscripted
Moments, the fire dies slow here, she burns
Strong against the embankments
Long as the shadows threaten
To overcome, she turns them back to the fringes
Allows time to come unhinged
I could spend years in her moments
Press all that I am to her lips
The tide reaches up my legs
The sky reaches down into my hands
I paint with her, this world is our canvas
I bathe in the color of her movements
I become her, she becomes me
One in our own reverie
A fire amongst the darkness
As I ever have been, and ever will be.
