When the Universe Blinks

Progression of the mind, ascension towards the divine
Melodic steps taken across the hands of time
She sways, every minute action an iron fist
On my chest, beating down the door to transcendence
Some singular focus, a molecular composition that draws me in
To her cells, imprisoned in the gravity of self
A kiss from the royalty of hell, this moment, this bliss
Palpable tension, sweat forms against the flesh
The heavens peer through curtains, we bury ourselves in blankets
The world dances in a stream of conscious moment
An intersection between hallucination and desperation
Where the slaves of the day shore up their beaches
We erode them, stealing miles into this ocean
Of escape, I lay, exhausted, still exalting every breath
Hang reality in the back of the closet
That through the fall, I'll never wear it again
Hazel-fire eyes speed blindly through my intentions
Through my walls and misspent sentences
Until all the years I've fallen come flooding back
Her tides bring me high upon the white sand
And drags my world across it, each crashing wave another day
In her embrace, each sea foam wake, dressed around her pupils
Brings me back to the gaze, back to youth
Full of life and decay, full of lovely hate
For the seconds away, and awe at the stake
Where I burn while they pray
I won't return again, I have earned this day
A stairway ascendance to her disarray
A chaotic rendition of ordered fate
Where despite the pitted days, I find whole the core of me
And breathe free, beneath the hands that strangle me
I can see what they will never see
I can be what they can never be
Divine, and beautiful in my
Insanity.
