Beauty

True beauty is found not in the flesh
But the soul, she can be seen only
Through the spirit, and those who judge
Beauty by the eye alone, deprive themselves
Of the greatest works of art ever known
True beauty carries herself with grace
Even to the grave, she can be touched only
Through the heart, and those who seek
Pleasure through sight alone, deny themselves
The brightest fires to ever burn

Far greater dreams await those
Who dare believe, who reach past
The glitter of gold to find themselves
Who would be told they have nothing
And would smile still, for all they have known
Cannot be quantified with words
And far outpaces any measured solace
That those who've never scaled those fences
Have ever learned

Life is not found in acquired tastes
In material things
Life is found, burning bright and loud
In beauty that addresses every sense
Over that which is merely seen.
