I wander through a darkness that swallows
Through shadows that suffocate in their thickness
Through barren landscapes painted in the throes of depression
Through skies curtained closed with drapes of rain
I seek not pity, nor redress
I trade not my sadness for sympathy
I stand 'neath these squalls quiet
And teach myself how to fall like the rain
I love the gray the same as the blue
Adore the black that obscures the truth
And heavy though my heart is
It is only ever weighed down by you
I ponder in a room full of gallows
Which has strung up my hope
Which has lifted me up from the ground
For the pleasure of watching me choke
I seek not confession, nor regret
I ask not for the love I suffered best
I lie, comforted by your pallbearer's hands
And savor the chill of your caress
I love the absence you've filled me with
Adore the poisons that beg me forget
And as drunk on love as I have been
Sip by sip, surely, I'll manage one more glass.
