Sandcastles

To cleanse the mind of all but passion
All but beauty, the transcendence
Of man unto nature
The collision of flesh against flesh
The sweet scent of her kiss
Such is the escape of the soul
The fire that burns bold
In the heart
Aspires to reach through her lips
To become the star
To whom she shares her deepest
Desires, her most guarded secrets
To know a love so vulnerable
She is nearly translucent
And yet so strong
No other could encroach
As the walls that we once sat against
And spoke of our great sadness
Erode into memory
We listen
For beyond the clutter of reality
Lies the beauty of our music
To rinse our hands of the blood that soaks them
To dissolve ourselves
Within each other's open spaces
Absolve the whole of our sins
Within a moment
The exposure of our souls
To the elements
The undressing of each nerve ending
Against a lover's skin
Another moment, drunk on the hopelessly
Flawless
Knowing passion, true love
Cannot be undone
By any hand
By any of the countless grains of sand
In this hourglass
We'll meet on the beach
Watch the ocean crystallize each
Of these moments, I see you
Across the sea, and know soon
These islands will become
Our continent
Until then, I'll still send
This message
For once I shared a moon with you
Now no night would be complete
Without it.
