Beneath the Weight of Air

She raised a finger
To my lips
And the world stopped turning
A moment
And silence came
And clothed us
She whispered a word
In my ear
And we ceased aging
A moment
Where love came in
And cloaked us
We hid deep in our fantasies
Guided only by the flames
Of passion
Never breathed a word
Of doubt
She lifted my chin
Held my eyes in hers
An eternity
And the world came crashing
Back into action
Stopped cars sped forwards
Stopped hearts climbed upwards
In tempo
A thousand surrounding voices
Spoke in unison
A casual cacophony
Where still we live on
In silence
In that moment
Where time ceased
And we speak
Without moving
Our lips
She raised a finger
To my lips
And held me forever in
A moment.
