Damnation in a Red Dress

It's just a day
Of walking away
Where love's left
Aside
Looking back on
This silent movie
Moment in
My life

The lead was played
By a queen dressed in
Dreams-be-damned
Eyes
The scene favored
Her right side, 'til I
Made it through
The night
The morning labored
To dredge my mind of
Regrets, and gin
Alike
But where clouds hold
On, to rays of light
She resides
Quiet
No letter could pass
Her lips, save to form
Her last word
"Goodbye"

Flash-forward to
Present times, and I'm
Still not quite

She left no mark
Permanent, as her
Lipstick on
My world
Yet still she stands
As vivid, as the
Night we lived
Our lie.
